Table Thai Massage INTRO 8 CE Hours
for dates and registration see calendar.
This class adapts traditional Thai yoga bodywork to the massage table, making the ancient wisdom of these techniques accessible to Western massage practitioners and bodyworkers. This course will allow you to introduce and integrate the movements and rhythm of traditional Thai massage into your current practice. In addition, you will discover a deeper level or energetic awareness and connection in your own body and with your clients.
In this introduction, you will learn: how to utilize body weight and leaning pressure to work at a deeper level with the most ease; how to incorporate breathing techniques and rhythmic application of pressure in order to create the feeling of "moving meditation" for you and your client; general parameters for working with the body from both a Thai and myofascial perspective, and specific techniques for manipulating the joints and soft tissue.
"The class was awesome. Yulia was amazing. By far my favorite CE class I've ever taken." - Joel Ketter

Table Thai Massage & Myofascial lines Integration series of 3 8CE classes 24 CE Hours
for dates and registration see calendar.
This Table Thai class is designed to elegantly blend in with your everyday bodywork practice. Unlike some Table Thai classes, the class will be anatomically as well as energetically based. You will learn practical, useful tools for your practice, making the work fresh and easy for you, and highly effective for your client. We will address fascial continuity with exciting and simple Table Thai techniques that work with the fascial and energetic lines in the supine, prone and side-lying positions. |
Key postural muscles will get extra attention with specific Table Thai techniques that you can blend with common myofascial approaches. The work will also help elevate the proprioceptive experience of your client, giving the work more lasting benefit.
You will learn customized stretches and compressions, joint mobilization techniques, and safe ways to control your body weight during deeper massage work that you can immediately apply in practice. We will be practicing smooth ways of integrating these Table Thai techniques into your own myofascial/deep tissue routine, with a focus on draping, lotion and everything in between. 12-18 poses will be shared during each class, which you can incorporate into your table routine based on your client's needs. Every student will receive a workbook with pictures to help you learn and integrate the work. Table Thai and myofascial techniques together create a powerful combination that is comfortable, effective and enjoyable for both the practitioner and receiver. |
8CE hours LEGS and HIPS class, part 1 of the 3-part series, we will focus on the legs, hips, and feet. Between the mass of muscles present in the thighs and the intricate design of the lower legs, there are plenty of opportunities to use an elegant combination of stretching, pinpointed pressure, and Thai energy lines to create effective change and a relaxing experience for the client. Applying these techniques aids in neuromuscular re-education, frees up joints, creates more space around joint capsules, improves the glide of the numerous myofascial layers, and allows you to use your weight and leverage in a way that preserves your hands.
8CE hours TORSO class, part 2 of the 3-part series, the spot light will be on Thorax, Pelvis, Thoracic and lumbar parts of vertebral column. We will refresh functional anatomy of this region with guided palpation to identify "key players" on postural deviation and breathing patterns. Effortless and effective Thai table techniques will help to improve the balance and tone of muscles in each myofascial line, remove energy blocks and restore the flow through the torso. Safe and easy compressions, gentle stretching through spinal rotations, flexions and extensions alone with fyofascial release techniques will help to create rounded full body experience for your client. This work has broad positive impact on to the client through creating space, smoother movements of spinal column, improved range of motion, deeper breathing, re-set in nervous system through emphasizing parasympathetic work, lightness and wholeness of the entire body. This type of work is self-sustainable where moves are executed with ease allowing opportunity for change.

8CE hours NECK and SHOULDER class, part 3 out of the 3-part series, offers to review multifunctional relationships between neck, shoulder and arm muscles, specific movements of the shoulder joints and the neck vertebrae. Understanding how energy and tension travel through the arms lines to the spine and back presents an opportunity to collect the clues on where compressions should take place and how stretching should be applied to be effective and efficient. We will use traditional “thai tools” like knees, elbows, forearms and whole body weight to deliver dynamic and slow, intense yet gentle, soft and deep compressions. Myofascial techniques layered with Thai moves create multi-application that gives a lot of freedom in execution in a short amount of time based on your own comfort and client’s needs including increased range of motion of the joints, mobility of the neck, untangled myofascial layers and release of the hyper tension, decrease in pain and reinstate overall piece of mind. Working with ease is one of the major factors in helping client on the table to relax and create safe place where change may occur. Bodywork can and should be effective for client yet safe and relaxing for you.
